Q. Where do I find test discs/what is the availability of test tools?
A. BD+ Test Discs are BD+ TST 001, BD+ TST 002, PTD100, STD100-1 and STD100-2. Please contact: bdplus@fox.com for more details regarding BD+ TST 001 and BD+ TST 002, fvl-info@ml.jp.panasonic.com for more details regarding PTD100, and bd-plus@jp.sony.com for more details regarding STD100-1 and STD100-2.
Q. We have purchased updated BD+ Test Discs, how do we handle the outdated version of the discs at this time?
A. BD+ Technologies LLC recommends that you contact the supplier(s) of the outdated BD+ Test Disc(s) for instructions regarding handling of such outdated BD+ Test Discs.
Q. How much is the license fee?
A. The license fee differs depending on the agreement type. Please refer to Exhibit C for BD+ System Adopter Agreement, Exhibit A for BD+ System Content Participant Agreement, BD+ System Eligible Code Developer Agreement, and BD+ System Content Participant Evaluation Agreement for these details.
Q. What is the meaning of Model Information on page 56 of BD+ System Adopter Agreement?
A. Please provide the name and number of the your product model and the firmware version.
Q. Can we receive the BD+ spec books before licensing BD+?
A. No, a license agreement will need to be fully signed and processed and correct payment received before BD+ spec books are released.
Q. Should we be a BDA licensee before we license BD+?
A. Yes, for Adopter.
Q. How does BD+ work with Managed Copy?
A. BD+ is dedicated to BD-ROM Movie Application. BD+ should be processed completely before entering Managed Copy process.
Q. Which agreement should my company register for?
A. Companies that make products and/or components and are interested in licensing BD+ technology should register for the BD+ System Adopter Agreement. Companies that produce entertainment content and are interested in licensing BD+ technology for commercial use should register for the BD+ System Content Participant Agreement. Companies that produce entertainment content and are interested in testing the BD+ technology should register for the BD+ System Content Participant One-Title Test Agreement. Companies that create content code for content owners and are interested in licensing BD+ technology should register for the BD+ System Eligible Code Developer Agreement.
Relation of BD+ Licensed Categories to BD-ROM FLLA Licensed Category
*BD+ Adopter is requested to complete BD-ROM FLLA before BD+ Adopter License.
**BD-ROM Component Manufacturers are BD+ Adopters only when they use BD+ Specifications.
